Akbar Arsiwala

Akbar Arsiwala is the Midwest Region Coordinator for the Travis Manion Foundation. Born and raised in Michigan, he enjoyed the outdoors and swimming in the lakes. Before joining the Foundation, Akbar served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, where he learned the tenets of leadership, teamwork, and perseverance. He is passionate about working with veterans to help them redefine their mission and continue to serve their communities. In his free time he enjoys bike rides and the relentless pursuit of the perfect burrito.

Benjamin Gould

Benjamin (Ben) Gould is the Chicago Chapter Director at Blue Star Families. Ben has worked on political campaigns, for advocacy organizations, and in state and federal government offices. Ben completed constituent casework for military veterans in then Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth’s government office and worked on and helped pass Illinois’ sexual harassment protection bill for unpaid interns while running the office of a member of the Illinois House of Representatives.

Ben serves as Advocacy Director of the United Nations Association of Greater Chicago and as Co-Chair for the Anti Defamation League's Glass Leadership Institute.  He earned his M.A. in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research and holds a B.A. in History and Secondary Education from Northeastern Illinois University.
